Need help on reverse lights
 
My buddy just noticed when i was backing up my reverse lights are not working all the balbs are good wires are nice and i still have no reverse lights.. maybe a backup sensor. im new to this need help pointers and possibly pics of what i need / where its located

is it stick our auto on standar trans there should be a electric connector on the trans see if its plugged in on an automatic it coulde either on trans or shifter dont own auto so not sure you did check fuses right

look under neath see if its plugged in there is only one that has wire to it not sure on you trans mine is different

Ok ill def check it out tomarrow and see if its unplugged, wish i could now but its dark and my heep dont fit in my garadge its way to tall :cool2:

if its pluugged injust run a toggle switsh to the lights when you put in reverse flip the switch when done flip it back can also be used as light in the rear at nite

yea man look at it today the sensor or whatever they call it is on the pass side of the tranny its 3/4 inch rouund and metal wires look clean and good i chassed them over top the tranny and it plugs into the transfer case is what it looks like anyway i banged on the sensor with a hammer and checked all fuses agian bulbs everything looks fine ill prob do what you said and put some lights on my roof on a switch which will help on trails and get me through inspection :thumbup1:

Ok if dont know if anyone cares but been trying to figure out my reverse lights and all that you find on cherokees and reverse (backup lights) are with auto not sticks i found this helped alot for me someone else may be able to use it i did everything he did and mine still dont work so im going tomarrow for a new sensor which is 60.00 for a auto its 200.00 and very easy to replace

you need to clean or replace your neutral safety switch ( NSS) , that controls the reverse lights same thing happened to me a few months back

check the fuses mine is powered by the fuse that say trans then check for power at switch b4 you buy it
