Default Need help. Rear backing plate nut size

Sorry to keep bothering people for things like this, but the backing plate nuts, four on each side of the rear, what size are they?

I kinda need to pick them up on the way home, and I left them there like a dummy.

3/8-24 on my '96 C8.25 drum backing plates. Reckon they're the same as the ZJ hardware I used. Glad to hear you found some.

lol, I didn't. That's going to be a HUGE help. Thanks. I found the part number, but he didn't have a description. I couldn't find anything online either. And he had to special order them @ $7.25 per.

Thanks again man. you = lifesaver

That sucks! Also that part number you were given doesn't show up in a search as being for the backing plate.

BUT if the ones I have will work for you your welcome to them. In fact your welcome to the backing plates also.

Thanks for the offer. I'll definitely keep it in mind. I think I might have found some 3/8 x 24 here at work, so I'm going to see if those work.

As for the 6030310, it could be the diagram you listed is the first use, and it was just repurposed elsewhere over time.

The bolts aren't regular hex head. They're specialized hardware. The heads are round except for a flat spot on one side. They are also splined just below the head. Might be able to get some pics out if need be.

FWIW I believe the original Mopar Part# was 06034988 or 04423085. It appears to have a shoulder, so 06030310 would seem to fit that bill.

That said, why drop 60 bucks on Mopar nuts.

I didn't. The ones I found at work worked okay. I'm going to go with those. I tried to soak mine in rust remover just to see what would happen, but they look like isht...I don't trust them.

I work at a truck body manufacturer, so I'm comfortable with the strength of the found fasteners.

When I worked at chrysler, yes, the leading zero would be left off of old part numbers. Their current system in 2006 needed all digits, but the older one didn't.
