Default Need help with install problem.

Yesterday i installed new front axle u-joints and front wheel bearings/hubs on my 99 xj. I used spicer u-joints and timkin bearings. The driver side is ok but im having trouble with the pass side. It seems that when and load is put on the lug nuts the rotor pushes in and rubs on the dust shield and caliper bracket causing the wheel not to turn. When i loosen the lug nuts the wheel turns but when tighten the wheel locks up. Anyone have any idea what my problem may be?

I want to say that I have seen posts on this before, and that you may have ended up with 2 different hub replacements with 2 slightly different clearances.

Take the wheels off, and carefully measure the clearances on the good hub, against the one that is not working. The differences might not be very noticeable, so measure accurately.

Think I figured out the problem. Now my issue is do I sent a hub back and get the different one or buy the right rotor. I think my rotors are cast but now im not sure. I may have had two diff rotors also.

You replaced both hubs with the same hub type? The one on the left is the 90-99, the right is the 99.5-01. I would replace both rotors (preferable to replace in pairs) with the correct ones for your replacement hubs. If you have the later hub, request rotors for a 2001. If the older hub, request rotors for a 93.

Here is a link with more details. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showpost....0&postcount=22 In your boat, I would bring a ruler when purchasing new rotors and verify them at the store.

Thanks for the help. Measured trouble rotor and it is composite so I will get rotors for cast which is the bearing I bought.
