so i was thinking of swap my straigth 6 4.0 for a diesel engine but im not sure if thats the best decision.
need a little help

 

IMHO with diesel prices I can't see it being a worth while upgrade. IMHO the best way would be to have a diesel XJ as a parts donor. I have no experience doing a swap to a different motor from a different car. I don't know if there are any aftermarket kits for wiring, computer and so on for such a task on an XJ.

 

wat would u do keep a straight 6 of put a diesel engine in there. i have a tough time deciding cuz i love diesels. i drive a big ford f650 with stacks.
and a cummins wit stacks and a big wheel kit and i just love diesels. the only bad thing bout them is when it gets to cold and the block heater wont keep the block warm enought to start in the mornings.

 

Might do a search on NAXJA and maybe someone over there has done such a conversion. I wish I could help but wouldn't even know where to start on a diesel conversion..
