Exclamation Need Help Engine light on and stalls

I am learning to work on my 97 XJ and I have run into a problem with the engine light is on and says it needs a new TPS. I have changed the TPS 2 times now the light is still on and it stalls when u let off gas.

As I mention I am new at working on it if you can give me an idea of what’s wrong and how to check it out it would be greatly appreciated.

Clean the IAC (right next to the TPS on the throttle body) Inside and out very thoroughly with carb. cleaner and a tooth brush. Varnish gets built up inside from cruddy gas and it gets to where it sticks. Also, if you haven;t done it lately fill your tank with Chevron Premium and pour in a body of fuel system cleaner.
