Need Help with diagnosis
98 Jeep Cherokee - Wife drives kids to school yesterday and on way jeep just kind of peters out...loses power, keeps sputtering etc. I go get vehicle several hours later, it starts but seems loaded up a bit. Raise RPMs and it cleans up so I drive away...I get less than a quarter mile away and again it starts to run terrible (losing power). A little history on vehicle: 138k, cat was removed and straight pipe put in its place (i did not hook up the down stream O2 sensor but it ran fine) mileage suffered...i know. I hooked up to OBD II and got O2 high voltage code and random misfires...i figured O2 code is because of the down stream one missing. Here the deal...let it sit (get cold) and it will start, clean up and run smooth for about two minutes and then same thing happens. I replaced up stream O2 sensor with Bosch replacement and makes no difference....same thing! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
