Default need help with coolent issues

I recently replaced the violent in my 92 Cherokee with a 4.0. When I was draining it I noticed a brown tint to it. I ran some cleaner through it as directed and it drained and refilled with water and drained several times. I left straight water in for a week and drained again and it had a brown tint again almost like muddy water. what would be the cause of this. The water pump and thermostat was replaced about 6 months ago and it didn't have this issue

Yep. but I would hate to keep putting in antifreeze and just keep wasting it.

not wasting it its a requirement. so the old coolant was reused? was water used to make up for any spilled coolant could have made the water content too high. one thing is for sure, its not going to get any better by keeping pure water in it. did you flush the heater core seperately?
