Need Help With Control Arm Bolts
So I am replacing my front axle and I can't get the bolts out for the LCA's. After doing some research it looks like a lot of people just cut them out, and that's what I'm looking at doing.
I'm looking at ordering new bolts but all I am finding are castor bolt sets. Will those work to replace what I have? It's just a stock set up with no upgrades at the moment. If not, where can I find regular bolts?

I replaced a couple that I just picked up at the hardware store, metric Grade 10.9. Pretty sure these are them, D/C:

I have found that 9/16" bolts fit better and that is what I have used on more than one rig. No regrets and can be bought at a fastener store

I had to take a Sawz-all to mine as well. The bolts are pretty much just regular bolts. I got a set of Mopar bolts from RockAuto when I did mine, but regular ones should be fine.
I think the castor bolts are used on Grand Cherokees - the XJ uses the adjustable bracket thing with the funny name that I can't think of to align the lower arms.

Yeah but one poster said he couldn't find those at Tractor Supply, and their website says they only have 75 and 100mm in Grade 8.8 (although who's gonna see 'em if they're a little too big?)
Bring the old ones along for comparison, but I would go to Grade 8 if you go SAE or 10.9 if they're metric (I think OE is 8.8, but IMO stronger is better, not because you need 'em to hold stuff together, but in 10 years when you go to take the rusty things apart they stand a better chance of not snapping).
Do you have an Ace Hardware nearby? Mine has a much more complete bolt selection.
Bring the old ones along for comparison, but I would go to Grade 8 if you go SAE or 10.9 if they're metric (I think OE is 8.8, but IMO stronger is better, not because you need 'em to hold stuff together, but in 10 years when you go to take the rusty things apart they stand a better chance of not snapping).

The tractor supply near me didn't have anything. No metric and the largest SAE what 1/2". But I was able to get what I needed at Lowes.
So now to cut!
