Need a favor - 84-96 (at least) roof rack rails
Hey fellas,
So the roof rack rails on my '87 Waggie are completely shot and I've not been able to locate replacements. That said, I've been working with a few different rubber manufacturers and one in particular has expressed interest in doing a run of rail runner seals for general release.
That said, I don't have a decent set to get measurements from. The best I can offer them is measurements from the sun-bleached/non-sun-bleached paint on my roof. I cannot tell if the OEM pieces were flat or had a profile to them.
Based on my roof, I have a length of 75'' and a width of 15/16'' with three oblong holes for the screws that affix the stainless steel runners to the roof...I'm confident of those measurements though, of course.
Do any members happen to have a good set of factory roof rack runner seals where they could provide a picture? I'm especially interested in learning if there is a profile to the rubber seal (ie, are there retaining ridges on each side?).
Lastly, and I know it's not scientific in any way, but from an enthusiasts' perspective, do you all feel there would be a market (albeit smallish) for replacement roof rack seals amongst the Cherokee/Wagoneer community?
Appreciate your input gents!

You might want to try a private message to Crist Clapper to see if he can help you out he was able to locate everything he needed for his Wagoneer restoration.
Or start searching the junk yards.

Dj,
Thanks for the reply! I forgot all about Crist's rebuild; but that's a good thought. I actually have found that same site and that's the only company I can find that even references them. I've got a company that is going to make me some; not too badly priced either. I'll get any fitment issues worked out and then will probably order a number of sets and thrown them on eBay.
Hopefully I can help some other folks that need them out!
