need any help possible

:help:i have a 98 cherokee with an 01 engine...(inl6)..it starts fine, and runs fine for a few minutes, until it comes up to temperature. Then it will not go and starts backfiring(popping) through the breather.Continues to run but acts like it is flooding out.If i pull over and shut it off for maybe 30 seconds or so it will run fine again for just a few minutes and then start over, and after a few pops she takes off like a bat out of h*ll.I have replaced the spark plugs and wires, dist. cap and rotor, and both o2 censors. but i really can figure this out i have tried with mechanics but they look at me like im nuts. PLEASE if u have any idea, links, etc.:help:

maybe fuel pump going bad? I know that they will act up when they get hot. Just a thought.

anyway to test that?

Testing fuel pump is easy. You do need a screw in pressure gauge, though. Plug the gauge into the test port on your fuel rail. Turn the key to on (don't start motor). Once the pump is primed you should have 30 PSI. Any less and the pump id bad. If it's wrong replace the fuel pump.

Sometimes the rubber fuel hose on the pump will deteriorate or come off the fuel lines in the tank. I probably spent 200 in new sensors and parts. To find out that the rubber line from the pump to the bracket on the tank was barely connected. I was just throwing fuel at the rail.
