My xj is missing

My xj is missing
I need some help. Sometimes when I drive my XJ for a little while and cut it off I can crank it back up and when I do it runs like it has a foul plug. So I sit there revving it up for a couple of minutes and little by little it clears itself out any idea what this could be maybe aTPS sensor or something I don't know any help would be appreciated
