My PCV/CCV Valve Grommet seems to be an unstandard size?
Hey guys, so I'm a bit stumped on this one. I'm trying to replace the PCV and CCV grommets on my 1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport, RWD, 4.0L engine. There are lots of threads already existing on this, but the problem is I seem to have a different sized grommet on my engine than most everyone else? All other threads said that I needed Dorman#42344, and so I purchased it, but as you can see from the pictures below, the dorman grommet is 10mm larger diameter than what is currently installed in my engine. It also looks like the bigger one would not fit in here, as you can see the current one is already right up against that plastic fitting on the left, and even without that it looks like the metal grooves on the valve cover would be in the way of the larger grommet.
The replacement PCV and CCV elbows seem to be the same size, however these dorman grommets appear to be too large to fit. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what part I need, and hopefully someone can help shed some light as to why my engine setup appears to be different from most 4.0's.
