My no start issue
 

So the engine was barely turning over, and now it does nothing just a click when i push the button. I am thinking starter so I am going to pull it off and take it to get tested. I charged the batt yesterday and still the same result so I am leaning to the starter. Any other ideas. Thanks guys.

Did you put the battery on a charger? Some battery's are sold with little to no charge on them.

How old is the battery?

If the battery has a dead or dry cell, it can show as fully charged on a charger, but not really have any power in it. First thing I'd do before pulling the starter is take the battery to have it tested, or try a different battery altogether.

Grab a wire brush and a little bit of sandpaper and clean up all of your grounds. Make sure you get 'em all spotless, both the terminal and the grounding point itself and then try starting it again. Dirty Grounds = r r r r r rreally slow starts.

Yeah I got a batt charger yesterday and let it charge till it said it was full. The batt gauge has plenty of power. I pulled the starter here is what the splines look like. They look worn to me. One side is worn down pretty bad, plus a stud on the solenoid is loose. Lucky me.

When I had that problem I found that I had a bad ground between the engine and frame. The ground strap connection at the head of the engine was loose. Also found and cleaned the short ground strap from the battery Negative to the frame at the fender. Might be worth checking into Don

Well just got back from schucks, and the starter and batt are good. So I picked up some new cables and I am going to give that a shot.

Still nothing, all that happens is the fuel spray. I will look into it more tomorrow. What a pain.

you get fuel spray? Is it turning over?

I get fuel, but no turnover. So I think I am going to try and check a NSS bypass.

I'd try pulling the pugs and try to turn it over. I'm thinking you might have filled the cylinders with gas causing a form of hydro lock. I'd say try there..

Have you put a amp draw meter on the pos. cable to the starter?

From what I am reading it will not turn over. Is this using the key. If so, have you tried by jumpering at the starter relay. I just also had the same problem and found that the ignition switch (mounted on the steering colum bottom) had loosened and moved just enough to prevent the pushrod from allowing the switch to go into the spring loaded start position. While I am not sure of your model, I checked mine by jumpering the small wire going to your starter solenoid to 12 volts. This is usually at the starter itself. Please make sure the car is not in gear. The starter should engage and the enginer turn over. If the key is "on" it should start. This will eliminate all of the ignition key wiring from the possible areas of trouble. If it still will not turn over try shorting the two large terminals of the starter and see if it will spin without engaging the flywheel. If both of those tests fail you have a starter or grounding problem. Unless there is major engine internal problems. Don
