Default my new best friend rusty

hello i'm new here and just bought my first cherokee. my wife and i found rust holes in the floor earlier. not a real big deal a little upseting. we got a estamete of 350 dollars to fix and seal that. them we found a hole in the rear 1/4 panel where the wheel well and inner fender meet. we also found rust on the rocker panel on both pass and driver side rear doors. that made the cost of repair 1075 dollars! we only paid 1800 for the jeep. i'm thinking about junking it any advice.

That's the only rust holes????

That's really not too bad at all.... Those are all known rust areas on Cherokees.

The floorboards can be repaired for less than 50 bucks and some work.

ALOT of us just cut off and seal the rear quarter panels for more tire clearance.

Complete rocker panels are available from the aftermarket. But.. alot of us cut them off and replace them with a rock slider tube.

patch panels. two words that are cheap and easy. dont get upset yet. you can buy everyone of those pieces for less than 250 bucks and weld them in. hell you could buy a cheap welder and all the parts and still be at 1/3 of what your qoutes are....

they make floor pans for cherokees. a bit of work with a cutting wheel, and some zip screws, and some body sealer plus a bit of undercoat and bedliner, and you'll have perfect floors.

let us know if you cant find a piece or two. and if you do weld them in, spray it all with some undercoating, that stuffs cheap and easy to use.

CF has members EVERYWHERE. And many of them are willing to give a helping hand. Whether it be in info, acqusition of parts, or a REAL helping-hand. We are "wierd" that way, but its a wierd in a nice way.

Just have to ask.
