my cherokee wont start

I bought a 96 jeep Cherokee sport with Blown motor. I replaces the motor and the tranny with junk yard units. also replacers the crank sensor and the ignition coil etc, etc . The problem now is it wont start, I replaced the starter thinking that was the problem I was wrong there is power to the starter but it's not cranking. know every so often the asd relay clicks like crazy the fuel pump turns on and off by its self, when you try to turn the ignition some the relays click sometimes they don't. wtf is going on this is why I love jeeps.

Battery? Cables? Clamps and connectors?

Could be a bad ground. Check resistance between negative battery terminal and engine block. If it's not close to zero, redo the grounding. Check where you have the negative cable attached to engine block. Make sure that connection is clean and attached to a freshly sanded surface to make sure there is contact.

I replaced the positive connecters but not the ground connecter. I am also going to sand the ground cable as well to get a good ground as well. Hopefully that should fix it I will let you know. Thanks

I had a similar issue with my 97 xj. The asd would continuously trip thus cutting power to my fuel pump. Turns out my problem was one of the receptacles for my fuel pump relay had broken lose from the fuse block under the hood on the passenger side and fallen back into the panel. So it wasnt making contact with all the pins on the fuel pump relay....thus triggering the asd. It may be a good idea to check all your grounds in the engine compartment and check all your plugs for your relays. Make sure no wires have fallen back into your fuse block like mine did.
