have you done any basic maintenance to it like plugs coil cap change the air filter. my 2000 has good get up with 33's and stock gearing i just lost some top end. and if you go to a 4.10 gear ratio it will give you some scoot back

Cool your jets gentlemen. How about a compression test to see if the engine is healthy before we start on the Viagra.

Well you can always get the "Hangin *****" from the trailer hitch...lol J/K but seriously check your compression and try a tuneup as suggested in earlier posts then check out this link...Tj

My 4.0 really wakes me up in the morning- granted my wheelin' rig for the last couple years until I got the XJ was an '84 4-Runner. Talk about no BawlZ- that sucker can hardly get out of it's own way. With the 31's on it 60MPH is top end on the expressway, and it takes about a week to get that fast! In 4-low it will crawl over lots of stuff but getting to the trails (or anywhere else) was no fun at all.

i guess i have no problems with my truck acceleration wise. i understand its a offroad rig and its not supposed to do 15 sec passes in the quarter. i have 31's no lift and a stock 97 engine and stock gears, but if i wanna do 70 down the highway it'll do it, and it works great in low range. i think the biggest thing for you is to have the regear done. on the other hand, my old 5 spd 89 comanche with stock gears would have problems climbing slight inclines with i had it in overdrive.
