you are talking about a 2.5 liter gasoline powered engine?

snooksey Dec 23, 2009 01:23 PM

yes i think so its 95 ron or 98 ron over here if that helps unleaded

xjrev10 Dec 23, 2009 01:27 PM

could be fueling issues or a bad sensor. any codes?

snooksey Dec 23, 2009 01:32 PM

there is no engine management light on also where do the codes come up ? new to the jeep thing only picked it up yesterday

thanks

it would be a check engine light. Should be on the left side of the dash. i would check fueling issues first. sounds like a sick fuel pump, dirty filter, or bad injector(s)

just had a play around and found the coil wire loose so puched it further into the block and took it on a 10 mile road test with some side ways action as its just snowed here again and all seems fine but i think im going to do a fuel filter change tomorrow as the previous owner stated that the jeep had been stood for 3 months

thanks for the help .

perfect! have fun in the snow. In my area they are talking up to 10-15 inches in the next couple days. Enjoy your XJ:thumbup:
