Mounting 6x9 speakers
Has anybody mounted 6x9s in the rear stock speaker holes? I wonder if these do the trick.

I've done it on the earlier (fibreglas) liftgates, just having to modify the mounting locations with a spiral bit in a Dremel. Probably took me ten minutes a side to get done.
The later (steel, 1997-2001) liftgates are better cut with a cutting wheel, but should be just as doable.

Ah grinding/cutting....
Hey, thanks for the input. It sounds worth the effort. I once had 6x9's in a box with the sub it sounded great, but took up too much space.

My current setup is 5.25" up front, 6"x9" in the rear, and a single tubed 10" Fosgate driver driven by a Kenwood 450W 1-channel amp (I don't thump, I just want to feel the bass riffs.) The sub driver is easily removable to regain the cargo area, if I need it.
