motor shuts off while driving

If you provide details about your vehicle, it might be helpful.
Any number of things could be causing your issue, but when I see motor stops with no check engine light, I'm inclined to suggest you start by testing your fuel pressure (with a gauge, while driving if possible).
If it dies when you let your foot off the pedal, then I would suggest starting with a throttle body cleaning, and inspecting the condition of the idle air controller (IAC).
This can also happen when your alternator is failing, and your system is running off of the remaining battery charge until it dies. But if the vehicle can be started again afterwords, this is not the problem.
