I had a really bad case of DW and made my XJ start to act up. It started to Idle really rough then CEL came on. PO300,po303 ect.. I did the usual plug wires, connections, C and R,... found an arc from coil to the 2 wire connector to the ac compressor. I unhooked each injector plug, then I started it up it ran and died. Now it won't start just crank....Any Ideas of what to do next.

 

Could obviously be any number of things so I'll just throw out one easy thing to check and let others chime in with their ideas...

Make sure your CPS lead hasn't come loose and melted to the exhaust manifold.

 

if you had a short to ground checking fuses would be first step

 

I pulled the number 6 injector plug off and my engine had no change in roughness. I did check the fuses but the mini atc's in the panel arent labeled so I dont know which one is which. However two were blown. BTW the miss doesnt go away at higher RPM'S. Thanks guys for your help.
