Misfire 43, 43 ,11

So i have a 96 cherokee with around 20k miles on it. I’ve been battling this for a little bit now, but Ive been getting a check engine light that reads OBD1 codes 43, 43, 11. The 11 code is new (figure it’s the CPS?)

I have already changed spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel injectors, exhaust manifold, ( it’s been cracked for a minute.) and the upstream O2 sensor.

I’m starting to run out of ideas here.
Also checked for vacuum leaks etc

I’m open to ideas/ suggestions

By googling, this code appears to have a rich history (some 4.0s had problems with this code due to weak valve springs).

However, one simple possibility that is -not- on your list of replaced parts (so far) is the ignition coil. This trouble code can be caused by an ignition coil. So it is worth replacing before spending big time or money on other possibilities.

Check the CPS wiring for any breaks in the insulation, and check the connector for any corrosion. I dont have any testing for it, so im no help there. The 96 was a mix of old and new so take note of what shape the connector is as it could be an oval connector, or a squared connector. Mopar is best, should you need one. Never hurts to clean the engine grounds as the XJ gets quite fussy when they get dirty. Not sure about the rest as i dont mess much with OBD1 Chrysler stuff.

I have heard the stories about the valve springs being bad, but I’m on a reman motor. But yeah I guess my next step is csp and or coil

Haven’t updated in a minute, so it has good compression, fuel pressure is around 50 psi. Cylinder one seems to be the only one misfiring, pulled the injector. No change.. swapped injectors. No change. Checked the connector for the injector and it did look a little bit pushed in like it may not be able to make contact.
