Default Mech fan hitting AC pulley- clutch swap

Hi, in the middle of replacing my fan clutch on my 96 4.0 and it's hitting the AC pulley. It's from Napa. Any ideas? Thanks! I've taken the shroud out to just make sure I'm getting it on square and it feels like it's square. The fan isn't backwards either. I marked the back side of it.

Yea maybe the wrong part. Can you compare it to the old one? Check the month on the sticker on the door. I just learned they try to trick you. If it's September or later you might actually have a 95. Also there are changes there. Some things transitioned in 96 to make your game yet more fun, as some of it is same as 95 and some of it is 97. Check this out, might not solve the whole puzzle, but it might help. . Universal VIN Decoder - Decode This VIN Decoder

Just thinking. If the month is before September, you might need a 97 clutch? Idk though.

I took the shroud back out and tried putting it on again and fully tightening it and it fits fine. Shaft is bigger in diameter than the stock one but that's the only big difference. Took it back apart and put the shroud back in. Thankfully a false alarm! Thanks for the help, good to know about the MY differences and mixing. It's 2/96 build, so it's probably pretty mixed.
