Default Manifold leak

I have a problem with my xj burning oil, it normally runs at about 210, can this be caused by the manifold leaking or do I need new rings.

At 240000 miles my 1987 limited would smoke when I sat at lights or in the line at the bank/any drive through but it did not smoke at startup. So I started by cleaning the Pcv system, I found the little hose in the back was completely plugged up. It Also appeared to be causing the oil to soak the air filter. Cleaned it up everything was good till I destroyed it in Ky. Check yours. My 1993 sport started smoking at 285000 miles same symtoms but the rear hose was clear, did a compression test I got fair compression out of it about 140-135 per cylinder. Had a leak down test performed my valves were ok, very confused now. Since it would't stop smoking and my grandson has a touch of asthma I bought a crate motor and swapped it in. For ****s and giggles I tore it apart to see what was the cause of the smoke. My cylinders 2-5-6 were egg shapped at the bottom of the cylinder causing oil to be sucked up at the bottom and compressed and burned at the top. Start with the simple solutions first, like the PCV tube, compression test, leak down test(performed at shop unless you have the setup at home). good luck.
