Autocross? It does surprisingly well. Beats up on hondas, miatas, bmw, and many others. Lots of torque. Surprises even the instructors with it's handling. Who would have thought?

From what I remember, it takes some custom leaf setups and/or a flip kit in the rear, plus some shorter springs in the front. The XJ-R had the front straight axle cut down the middle and re-welded in a slight "V" for extra clearance and camber. It's a great build.
This is true. Mine weighs only ~300 lbs. more than my GTI. I just don't see how you can get it set up well with a live axle rear end, but it would be fun to see it out chasing cones.

While I think it looks pretty cool in an odd sort of way.

It reminds me very much of an old volvo

Bilstein shorter shocks front and rear
Front 3" lift springs cut, they are heavier rate than stock springs
Front and rear Addco bigger sway bars
Cut much shorter F+R bump stops, we essentially lowered it to ride on the bump stops and then cut the bump stops to get some suspension travel, about 1"
Composite rear springs flipped over and run upside down.

Handles actually quite awesome. Just a step below the bmw and vette.
Light, handles well, lots of torque

If you don't mind me asking here, where did you get composite rear leafs?

While normally I cringe when a noob brings a thread up from the dead, this one is pretty cool.

Put enough toddlers in front of a keyboard, one of them will type a sentence...
