Default Lowering an XJ ?

I have an idea and it is a bit unconventional....I was thinking of Lowering my XJ,,,I know, you jeep guys are probably saying WTF ???, bit if someone wanted to actually lower the XJ, what would be involved ? is it as simple as flipping over the rear axle and mounting the axle on the other side of the leaf springs ? and what about the front end ? do you have to shorten or cut the coil spring to the correct height ? I don't know if anyone had ever lowered an XJ, but for a DD and only a street machine it might be nice...any thoughts on this ? Thanks in advance.

Lowering an Xj? Perhaps on a 2WD vehicle but I wouldn't know how to.

I don't know what goes into it, and I've never seen one, nor would I do it myself, but I'd sure like to see one.

If you make it happen, make sure to post some pics.

The last two XJ's pictured above are the same Jeep, before and after paint. That particular XJ (Google search "Jeep XJ-R") is turbo charged and absolutely kills it on the autocross course. The XJ is surprisingly light and performs well on the track.

From what I remember, it takes some custom leaf setups and/or a flip kit in the rear, plus some shorter springs in the front. The XJ-R had the front straight axle cut down the middle and re-welded in a slight "V" for extra clearance and camber. It's a great build.

I'm not sure about the front, but for the rear, do nothing but wait. It'll lower itself in time

I need to lower mine to about an inch below stock so when I go to 35s they don't look small.
