Lower control arms?
I have a stock 2001 sport. the left (passenger side) lower control arm is damaged, it is no longer U shaped, it looks like it got hung up on a rock and got pinched. the jeep drives straight and runs down the road good. I want to replace this control arm.
Question: whats the procedure? do i need it on lift or just a floor jack and jacks stands? does it need to be aligned after this replacement?

just a jack and floor jacks will work. yeah you need to notch the alignment it's called caster. notch it on the axle and the LCA mount on the otherside of the heep. and the bolts can be a real PITA to get out. you might want to cut them off and jsut replace them with grade 8 bolts.

take a nife or skrewdriver or a metallic silver sharpie and mark where the LCA top and bottom are. i mean that's what they tell you to do. but honestly if you have your hoghead supported with a floorkjack while the truck is on jackstands and you take them lose if the axle doesnt move i don't see how the caster can change.
