Lots of Vibration during heavy braking
1 Attachment(s)
Hey All,
So my cherokee had a 3.5 inch RE lift on it when I bought it but the rear was sagging bad so I just added some Rough Country 2 inch lift shackles to even it now. The problem is now when I brake heavily I get some crazy vibrations and grinding sounds from the rear of the vehicle. I am thinking I could have an issue with the driveshaft and angles now but I am not sure. For reference the attached picture is what my angles look like if that helps at all. Pinion is above horizonal, driveshaft is even more above horizontal and TC output is even with horizontal. Any ideas out there to fix this would be much appreciated. Thanks, John |
did you adjust your pinion angle after adding the shackles? they can throw it out of whack. get some shims

more angle to your pinion and it wouldn't hurt to put a small TC drop in maybe a 1/2 to 1" drop

see if its a brake problem by parkin on a hill and puttin trans. and TC in neutral and then brake as normal. this is to see if its the brakes causin this vibin (i kinda doubt it though)

Well, I got some 1x1 and whipped up a quick tcase drop and that solved the problem. When I have the time I will get some axle shims and get rid of the tcase drop.
