hello i have a mager problem that i have not yet found wy its doing it. my 2000 jeep Cherokee sport 4x4 4dr lose power and speed when u start to drive off. it also flickers my lights dim to bright and my dash goes crazy. does not happen all the time i think its about 75% of the time. i had it check but they said its my Alternator but i had it checked and they said its fine. also i have a new battery, checked the fuels . any idear wy i lose power and speed please ?

what you typed didnt makes sence about the alternator man... thats what i would go with... maybe the connections to the alternator and the rest of the jeep... or a belt is gone and u didnt notice it...

Check exhaust flow at the tailpipe. May have a clogged converter.

You may have a bad ground

x2,mine did the same thing and it was a groung from the fire wall to the engine.

clogged converter wont make the dash go crazy... bad ground could i guess but if u can take a battery out while running and any vehicle will do fine like this then i doubt its your main ground... would have to be a ground for like the computer or distributor or something weird...

could be wherever the alternator is grounded...

well i looking into what u all said and nothing. i did manege to find there are 2 new codes on the computer that was not there before. boath are censers one is the speed censer on the rear axle (witch i see that it has something to do with the speed and shifting of power). if i read it right. the other is in the engine some where. i be changing them this weekend hopefully that will fix the problem .
