Default lost my pulley

So I was driving to my cottage friday night, after about 5 hours driving my truck made kind of a weird noise, didnt really know what to think, I looked down at my gauge, everything was looking fine at that moment, but the next corner I got into was a bit scary, didn't have any power steering anymore, and a check gauge light came on....

anyway I pulled over, pop the hood open to realise that my pully came out of my water pump, not from where you bolt it on, but the pressfit flange on the pump shaft. Anyway got a new pump and belt to fix it on sunday before driving back home.

Am I the only one that this ever happen to? I was feeling the bearing and its rough a little and it looks like the pump blade did grind a bit of the pump housing too wich could explain the noise I had when I bought the truck, and I did noticed it louder about 30 minutes before loosing the pulley.

Anyway, after all I got lucky the pulley was stock in the passenger side fan, and didnt even bent the fan or radiator
