sounds like you need a new set of battery cables or there is something drawing alot of power off the battery when the truck is off and it shouldnt be drawing anything

so you have a short

others have had the plug for towing short and cause your problem
look for loose or worn wires

some times the alt will have a short that they don't test for it will still charge fine but kill the bat after the motor is off

if you have a voltage tester disconnect the pos battery cable and connect the
tester accost from the cable to the terminal it should be showing voltage if you have a short

then un plug the field wire from the alt if the voltage stops then you have a bad alt

Might take battery to Auto zone or Walmart and battery tested with a high rate discharge tester to see you have bad cells in battery
