What is this part and why is it ticking?
I thought I had a valve ticking, but it turned out to be this. It is ticking at about the same speed as a valve would be ticking at idle.
My purge solenoid ticks, too. If i lean in close enough, i can hear it. Some are quite, some are loud. Some can be heard with the hood shut and in the driver seat. I remember one that did sound like lifters, but was tracked down to that solenoid. Noisy little bugger.

I can her mine while sitting in the cabin. Sounds like there’s a ticking bomb in my glove box.
