Lookin for help with scanners

Renix era (87-90) Cherokees don't store any codes. They don't even have a check engine light. All diagnosis can be accomplished with a multi-meter and a bit of knowledge.
There was an AMC and Snap-on scanner that attached to the Renix, but that was for live information. So in simpler terms.. you won't find a code reader or scanner for your Jeep.

i feel your pain checking every sensor with a multimeter SUCKS,but it teaches you to be a REAL problem solver. but like the other guy said you can get live info from a DRB I/II scanner. miller tools made them iirc. they are real $$ since you need a crap load of different cartrages to go along with it all. however some people have been getting good deals on them since a bunch of crysler dealerships went down. also the check engine light does exist in this era, but it was for the emissions timer. wish we could at least get flash codes!
