long uphill which gear to avoid overheat?
I was climbing a 5 mile mountain road in 4x4 today and the heat started to creep up over time, so I backed off a bit and it was fine. Question is generally should you be in a lower gear revving higher or in a higher gear lugging in these conditions? We were getting into snow country, so ambient temp's weren't high at all.

lower gear. going up hill i usually wait until about 3,500-4k to shift and try to keep it about 2k rpms when in a higher gear.
