Default Little electrical issues.

Ok, I have a few questions. I have a 99 sport that i dont know a whole lot about. The window lock is broken. Sometimes the passengers have control of their windows, sometimes not, but i always do, and the light is out on the switch. Should i just replace the switch? Is there another common problem?

Also, when i turn on my hvac to heat/ambient(the right side of the dial, white indicators opposed to blue) I still hear what sounds like my compressor kicking on under the hood. Is this normal? Is the xj preparing for when i need cold air? Is it stuck in a/c mode?

windows probly going to be your drivers side switch... the wires to your other doors go through your drivers switch FIRST... my 03 cummins did this... replaced the switch and good to go... the reason you here you ac compressor come on in heat is so during the winter when you never use your AC it still flushes oil through the compressor so it doesnt burn up... the oil is made with the freon so it spins over to make sure everything stays lubed up... its a good thing...

Ok, i suggest that ANYONE who is having power window problems peform this bypass. It works, and takes literally less than 5 mins. I removed the 2 screws at the front of the door sill piece, and then just popped the kick panel up, slipped the paperclip in, put tape over it, and slid it all back together. Easy as pie, and the connector was easy to identify.
