Default Limited Slip Dana's 35-44

Y'alls experience is requested.

My 92 XJ is a pain in the *** on loose gravel. So I'm thinking of adding Limited Slip Diffs on both ends.

But to spend any money on the stock dana 35's seems to be almost wasteful.

So my question is... LSD's for the 35's, or switch out the axles for Dana 44's?

Any sources you guys find reliable for the LSD's?

Thanks

Do you have a prospective donor already? I had a Dana 44 on my old TJ and never had a problem with it.

You can swap a 29 spline Chrysler 8.25 in from a 97-01 XJ, they are just as strong as the Dana 44 but are easier to find and work on.

If you want to permanently improve your handling on dirt, have you considered for the FRONT D30?..Eaton Truetrac LSD

That would be on my wish list, as by all reports, they are undetectable in daily use, but do give a noticeable improvement on traction while off-road

(my understanding) the way they work off-road is better than a clutch pack LSD, not as good as a locker, but I personally dont want a front locker in certain situations,,,,driving at speed on dirt being one of them

missed a used one recently, on the lookout..anyone got one for sale?

When my XJ's original D35 needed replacing, I went looking
in the junkyards here in Africa. I found a 93 XJ with an 8.25
with 4.10 gears and factory Sure-Grip lsd. I bought the
8.25 and the D30 with it. The Sure-Grip still works well
for my use since I drive on lots of loose gravel and the lower
gears worked out great.
