Picked up a 91 for my son....has a lil pump of some sort located in the left hand upper corner under the hood....runs when the key turns on..lil noisy ......dont know what it is???

It's part of the P.O.S. bendix A.B.S brake system.

There are plenty of threads here and elsewhere about removing and replacing it with a more conventional system.
