Lifted or not?

Hello all, this probably Is a stupid question, but wth! I have a '96 classic with 30x9.5 on 15's, I pulled up next to a stock sport and mine sits a little higher, could that be bc of the tires, or could the PO put in I'm guessing a 2 inch lift? What can I look at to tell? I'm looking to get new shocks and don't know what size to get, it doesn't appear to have like a 3.5 inch lift, thanks for any help, idk if you can tell in the pics I have up

Btw, I'm looking to put stock shocks on for now

you can measure from the center of your wheels to the botom of your fender and i think its suppose to be like 17inches or someting like that. but yes bigger tires make it sit up more

Ok, I'll go do that now, thank you

Yup, middle of wheel to bottom of fender. 17" in front and 17.5" in the rear for stock.

Vice versa, actually. 17.5 for the front, and 17" for the rear :)

Anyone know a measurement of the stock ride height spring??

ckysodkorn_xj 02-23-2013 03:02 AM

like the length of the actual front coil?

Thekid320 02-23-2013 06:01 AM

No length from bucket to axle

RTorrez1 02-23-2013 08:40 AM

The only problem with measuring for height like that is it will only tell you if you don't have any sag in your coils and leaf springs. If it is greater then the 17" and 17.5" it will tell you that you have a lift but not how much lift.

I don't have fenders they are cut and tubed just curious how to measure where I'm sitting I have a set of tj coils on the front and a set of 63" leafs in the rear so I was just curious how much lift it got me

Thekid320 02-23-2013 01:49 PM

If you have a measurement of a stock coil under load and and i measure mine it should give me what the lift is

jj1562 02-23-2013 03:52 PM

Ok, just measured, 16 inches in the rear and 17 1/2 on the front, I guess that means no lift? And I can get stock shocks?
