Lift question
 

I finally have some spare cash and I wanted to start making my Jeep a true off roader. My brother just lifted his pickup again, so I picked up some M/T 33" tires still at about 85% tread for free to start. Ordered some 15x10 wheels to mount them on for pretty cheap too.

My main question is, how much lift do I need, and any adjustments I might have to make to get them to fit without rubbing. My only problem is I don't want to do any cutting on the wheel wells, my Jeep is 1)not completely paid off, and 2) It is in PERFECT shape...and I don't wanna go cutting it up. All info is aprreciated!!!

with no cutting you need about 5.5 lift. it will rub probably on your control arms and you fenders. you will need to think about a long arm lift and a SYE with drive shaft. make sure you get a complete lift with full leaf packs and a adjustable track bar. you will be spending some serious cash to make this work with no cutting.

I was kinda looking at the rough country 6.5" suspension kit by Rough Country...would that work? I'm assuming a little extra work would still be involved...but hoping for no cutting.

I know RC price wise is appealing but there quality is crap. they are the number one issue we have come through the shop i work at. i have seen leaf springs of theres sagging after 8 months. their bushings are complete crap. couple weeks ago we just replaced bushing on the leaf springs and control arms for a customer. wanna guess how old the kit was? 6 months. I have seen bent RC track bars, their shocks are crap and their kits are a rough ride.

we all have budgets and I'm just like you, like to save $$. with RC you get what you pay for. buy quality and it will last, buy RC and expect to replace parts often.

I had a RC lift on a parts rig for awhile. i have owned RC products. will never do it again.

I have heard some negative things about RC....so what about the Rusty's off road 6.5" spring pack? Dollar wise it's not much of a stretch...but is it quality?

I have seen better quality from rustys but their shipping cost are through the roof. i have seen and heard good things about iron offroad and bds. check out clayton offroad. his stuff is pure beef

Look at ironrockoffroad. very nice. stay away from RC.

These guys are right on what they re telling you Epic ,you might pay more for a quality lift but it still cheaper this way cause you will only buy once. good luck

This may sound dumb, but but my understanding is that since I DO NOT have ABS, that means I have the 8.25 Chrysler rear end, is this correct?

The D-35 has a screw in fill plug and the 8.25 has a rubber push in plug.

Awesome...I'll check it out in the morning...oddly I have found very little info on this...but I don't exactly know where to look lol. Going from hot rods to 4 wheelers is more challenging than I thought!

I believe both the turdy five and the 8.25 have plastic fill plugs the noticeable difference between them is the 8.25 has a flat bottom diff housing and the turdy five is round.

BTW my vote is for iron rock offroad. You can get the complete package with sye and driveshaft from them for just over 2k. I'm saving up for the 8 inch and goin with at least 35's
