Default Lift Question

Please try not to bash to much. Buuuuuuuuut, I'm gonna use spacers and blocks to lift my 2000 xj sport. Now before any one gets bent, this Jeep is a pavement pounder. I know it's a crime or felony or something to not wheel my xj but I can't afford repairs after I flip it over or something and I have a wife that has already helped me sink well over 10,000 into various 4 wheel vehicles. In saying this it is my daily driver and would lift blocks really have much of a chance of twisting around the axle just under normal driving conditions. Going with homebrew 3" spacers in front and 3" blocks in the rear and have new longer shocks all around. Another question, other the the brake lines what else will need to be moved and or extended. I saw something about blocks in rear causing rear sway bar to rub the inside of the back tire, idk about this just wanna sort it out ahead of time. Thanks and be gentle.

If you stay under 3 inches of lift you don't need to modify brake lines and sway bar. The sway bar bushing will slightly touch the tire if you have 31s or bigger on stock rims and only in tough turns. If the rear brake line looks a little srtretched you might want to relocate it with a S shaped bracket, but i assure you it will only stretch if you twist the hell out of it...

when the OP started this post he made it quite clear hes doing lift blocks, and doesnt care what your guys' opinions are, so why are you still bringing up different options for rear lifts?

in reality, you should be fine with lift blocks, if your sticking to the pavement. that is as long as you dont like doing burn outs or drag race launches cause thatll cause axle wrap as well.

and for the extended brake lines, considering you wont be doing any serious flexing and articulating (street truck) the lift will cause no problems.

Thanks guys for the replies I am really only going for the look not practicality. I do drive fairly easy other the the occasional road rage. I looked into doing the bastard pack only problem is junkyards around here want $100 dollars just for leafs which is crazy. East TN is crazy about there junk parts. If anything this really might be just temporary until I can get some leafs cheap but the 3" spacers above the springs should cause no problems right.

coil spacers are ok. i just dont like the after market rear blocks they seem to crack and destroys leafs. could go for oem chevy 2 inch blocks. and a shackle lift.

Ouch that sucks, but again do you wheel at all. If it happened just driving down the road that is fine and well, but had you wheeled with the blocks previously. My xj has been off road one time and it was to get to a campsite at a camp ground. Off road for me consists of a gravel driveway. Also this will only need to do me for about 6 months to a year tops before I get a new pro kit to lift it. This in mind will I have to honestly worry about axle wrap or leafs breaking, and saw somewhere that if you wheel with them it causes your leafs to uncurve. Will this happen with normal road conditions. Thanks for replies and advice, still searching for some junkyard dakota or s10 leafs under 100. Wish me luck.

In light of this ^^ you'll be fine with the spacers and blocks to get you by until you buy the lift kit. It's just not an ideal setup. I would recommend doing a smaller block (1"-2") and an extended shackle rather than a 3" block, but that's just me. The fact that it doesn't leave the pavement helps a lot.
