Default Lift question!

I put a 3' rough country lift on my 92' Cherokee over the weekend. However, I had to remove the rear sway bar so that the tires wouldn't rub. Is it ok to remove the sway bar or is this going to be a safety hazard on the road.

Thanks for the reply! I'm new to the Jeep world, I just wanted to make sure it was ok to remove the rear sway bar. I also wanted to go with bigger tires/rims do you have any recommendations?

A rubbing swaybar is a symptom of lift-blocks...

you didn't use lift-blocks, did you???

The rough country 3' lift kit came with 2 blocks and 2 leaf springs. Are you not suppose to use the blocks?

The lift came with blocks and the leaf springs, on an XJ you are only supposed to use the springs, the blocks for for a Commanche pick-up. You now have 4.5" of lift in the rear, if you remove the blocks you will have 3" (not 3'). :-)
I only got the front of my RC 3" lift done this weekend, as I only had 1/2 of Saturday to do it in. I will be finishing the rear next week. Looks really funny as I only have 6 rims and four have the new 31X10.5s on them so they are on the front with stock 225/75R15 on the back with a really saggy rear end... Looks comical and driving it was funny, felt like I was star gazing or something! I only drove it from the driveway to the back of the house...

Cheers!

Wow, I feel stupid all that work and I put the whole rear lift kit on wrong . Maybe this is why I had to remove the rear sway bar so that the tires wouldn't rub? Thanks for the help.

Can you use the 2'' lift-blocks with the leaf springs?
