got my re 3.5 superflex on today, except for the discos. I put on the rear extened brake lines, but the fitting on the frame is leaking, so i didn't even get to drive it. Do I have to put the whole new line on or is there an easier way to fix this? I also read somewhere about putting front brake lines on off a chevy 1500 pickup? I wish I would have orded extended lines from re

and my hats off to anyone who puts on a lift without a big air compressor and impact wrenches!

Front brake lines from a mid 90s YJ Jeep is what you need in the front.

haha no I had 1/2 and 3/4" drive impacts, but i could sure see it wouldn't be much fun without them! the front only took me about 2 1/2 hours, but the back was like 5, which was not what I expected.

my plan is to get some 31" mtrs and maybe wheels off a rubicon, i've found quite a few sets on craigslist. i kinda like my factory rims actually, but i would want some wheel spacers though

jekyllrider 11-02-2008 11:20 PM

yeah not fun without air tools, i was putting pipes on socks and such.

ok im done hijacking your thread.... ;)

I have the same wheels as you and i think they look good with some bigger tires.
I got a set of 265/75/R16s about 31.5" But upfront the tires will rub on sharp turns without spacers.

What size tires r on it when the pict was taken?

Thanks, when i was looking for new tires, i could not see myself spending money on new rims, when the ones i have are perfect and do look good. :D

If they rub on sharp turns, don't they really hit your fenders at full-flex? I would like to run that size but I don't want to tear stuff up off-roading. I guess once I get my brakes fixed up I'll flex it and look at clearance. the wheels do look good, but like i said some spacers would give it a mean stance too.

One of my fav sets of rims are the black Cragar soft 8's they are pretty light and look nice

I haven't taken them truly off-roading yet only playing a little bit and have yet to rub, i do plan on a getting a set spacers to solve my rubbing on the turns problem soon though.

Bmrrwolfe, are your tires 31.5 x 10.5 or somewhere close to that in that metric crap or whatever its called. How big of spacers are you going to get? the reason i ask is because i get rubbing too when i do sharp corners on a little flex but if i get spacers, than i will need to get some bigger flares because they stick out an inch already....

xj jeepman 11-09-2008 07:22 AM

just cut ur flares
