lift kits w/ shims....... ?
 

OK...I'm doing the typical newbie thing and reading through catalogs, reading all the posts I can here trying to gain knowledge and insight.
SO, I understand my XJ (98) has a real sensitive driveline issue when lifted.
I do understand that shims when applied correctly can help correct these issues.
out of all the different companies that offer lift kits, skyjacker seems to be the only one that advertises built-in shims to correct driveline angles. Is this just a gimmick? or actually a usefull feature?
Also, if it is gauged to correct driveline angles with the transfer case in the stock location, would the x-fer case drop kit, void the benifit of the shims?

I have 6 degree shims on my 6.5" lift on my 01 XJ with no tcase drop(needs put in) i have vibes but none that will kill me. ANd the shims correct the angle at the axle, and the t case drops corrects it at the tcase.

Rusty's comes with shims too :thumbsup:

How big of a lift are you looking to do?

I'd love to go between 4.5 and 6....I want 32's under her. (greenie)
I'm seeing lotsa tech....and alot of it doesn't jive with one another...
but I AM learning that, for a lift like that, there are many parts that don't come IN the kit, that will make the mod a success.

you know alot of the things you see on the net arent right and alot are!!

i am still kicking myself in the butt for going 4.5 and not 6.5.

I was scared of a SYE (price that is) and like i said i want one but dont need one.

I was wondering this same thing yesterday. When I had the jack underneath to take the tires off the angle looked alot better, so I was wondering if bigger tires will help with the angle as well.
