Default Lift for 93 XJ

I searched around a little, but I need more info....

I want a 3" lift and I was planning to install it myself. (I have very limited mechanical experience but I can follow directions). It will be for a daily driver, but I want something durable for mild offroading (probably no rock climbing). Which lift should I get and can I install it myself or should I pay a professional?

Also, I would like to give it a little more power (2.5), should I do a cold air intake? Exaust?

Thanks

#1 rough counrty lift
#2 if you have never done a lift before this is a good kit to learn how to put one on, it dont take that many tools, air tools are a life saver!
#3 yeah cold air intake will help and so will an exhaust

If your 3 inch lift is going to include larger tires, you'll find the limits of the 2.5L in a heartbeat. I agree that you can do it yourself if you have access to the right tools.

Everything is straight forward .....rust is your biggest enemy. Have the following handy huge breaker bar, sawz all, cut off wheel, torch, and extra time.

A lot depends on where you live (and where the XJ has lived). Here in Texas you can spray almost anything with penetrating lube and it zips right off with air. Those in the great white north don't have that luxury.

Yeah i just installed my rough country 3" lift very good lift and very easy to install with hand tools but if you have access to air tools it will go alot faster.

Judging by your screen name i'm guessing your from texas so installing the kit should go easier for you just soak down the bolts with pb blaster a few days before and you should be good to go if you need any help installing it i can give you some pointers once you get it.

Gearing will be your friend when it come to the 2.5 4cycl here is a very good article on bolts on's vs gearing for the 4cycl that might help you.
