lift
I wouldn't cut any corners with a lift. It's your safety and it's not a good idea to go the cheap route. Look at some Rustys lift kits or Rough Country lifts. Those are the cheapest sets I can think of that are also safe

Do it once and do it right. Rusty's and Rough Country are the cheapest out there and are not bad kits at all. Go will full leaf packs if you can.
Save up and get it right the first time. Rushing and using cheap/shortcut parts will probably cost you in the long run. And there is no cost savings on safety.

Yes a 3" will basically just go right in. You don't have to drop the transfer case. You may have to lower the brake lines but they give you the mounts. And you are at a lesser risk of getting a death wobble
You may need a tcase drop. Depends on year.
May need to redrill the axle side trac bar mount as well. Not difficult.
Other options are living with an off center axle, or spend cash on an adjustable trac bar.
Mine was off center for a very long time, I had no real issues.
