Just loosened the pump pully and it spins a whole lot better. All the other Lilly's were good spinning free... we'll see what happens when I turn it on

It's back to normal now. I loosened the water pump pully bolts ever so slightly and tightened up the belt to its proper specs. It started up with a faint screech and the went away and the normal sound was there. I'll update if anything else occurs... hopefully it won't.....

Update:...it went well for a while but screeches loud when I start the jeep. After it started it goes away. Although I was sitting st a stop light and it started screeching really loud but then went away. I checked the belts as well.

I can't figure how the w/p pulley no matter how tight would cause the pump shaft to spin easier when loosened. It's not against the pump housing is it.
After you've run the vehicle for a few miles to get everything up to operating temp and after loosening the lock bolt tighten the belt adjusting bolt five 1/2 turns with a 15mm socket or wrench. Start it and turn on the A/C. Give the throttle a good punch while someone is under the hood listening. Should not even be a chirp. If it screeches tighten it five more. If it chirps tighten it three 1/2 turns. Just finished adjusting my new belt after a few hundred miles of break in. Nice and quite plus my volt gauge reads back to a higher normal like when I first installed the new belt.

No. Tighten the adjuster one half of a full turn. Five times. If you want use enough extensions on your ratchet and do 2 1/2 full turns. If it's the belt screeching you should hear a difference after doing this once. If not try it again. Don't forget to tighten the lock bolt. Before starting the engine.

Ok so everything is good now, the engine starts up normally and sounds good BUT After I got out of the parking lot (out of idle) and tried to start accelerating on the road I heard a deep duh duh duh duh duh. So I pulled over and checked the noise (its stops when I am not accelerating). I reproduced the sounds again and sounded like it was coming from the fan area BUT the fan was clear and not hitting anything. but it was coming from that area. Long story short................I pulled back on the road and it started up again as I accelerated after about 45 seconds to a minute of make that sounds it went away. and drive and sounds normal. It does this every time i first turn the car on and accelerate, but then goes away.
