Leaking radiator cap
I have a 1996 jeep cherokee 4.0 and my radiator cap is leaking I already put in a new one and still leaks ?
|
The radiator neck can be distorted. It's plastic, right?

Thinking what cruiser said.
In my '00 if I don't get it on just so wants to weep out of there. Found bending the tabs every slightly, and gently, seems to help. |
You beat me to it Ralph!! Definitely worth a try, as is the 16 pound cap.
We always have to keep in mind that the country of origin plays a huge part in the quality of replacement auto parts. CRAP. Chinese Replacement Auto Parts. Motorad is a factory supplier to OEMs and they manufacture their cooling system parts in Israel. FWIW |

But I just bent the tabs on my brand new, at the time, cheap Napa one and been fine ever since. |
Ralph, that has been my experience also.
