Leaking Freeze Plug

Hi new to the forums here. I have a freeze plug that is leaking on the driver's side of the engine (i think second from the front). Is it necessary to pull the intake and exhaust manifolds to get to the plug, or is there another way get to it?

Thanks

you can get to it from the bottom, but its a PITA.
easiest way is to remove the intake/exhaust manifold so you have room to swing a BFH

I had the same thing last year, the easiest way to do it is to remove the intake/exhaust manifold. Also I found the plugs that i got from napa were 1/32 to big, didn't think that would matter but it did. I ended up going to a rebuild shop and bought brass plugs that fit perfect.

Put the new plug in the freezer for a day or so before you put it in and it will shrink the metal slightly and makes it a little easier to put it in.

replace it with brass. Do all of them while your there you will hate it later if you have to go back. IMO
