Later Oops

So a long time ago my exhaust fell on the highway in the joint at the beginning of the muffler. So during this time i just crushed the two pieces together with a exhaust clamp. Well wasnt permanent and it fell down still so i used a band clamp on it and while it does work it is very noisy and can hear exhaust crackling and such when dailying it. So i took it back apart and the pipe that is supposed to go into the muffler doesnt even have a millimeter to go into it. So do i have to move the pipe from the muffler back forward? I just cant get enough metal for the clamp to squeeze and hold and is starting to split the metal.

Please ignore the hose clamp a buddy thought that was a solution i used an actual exhaust clamp next and this is the only picture i have of it as the first time was raining and on the side of the highway with semis and cars going well over 80 mph lol.

Similar thing happened to me. I bought a $5 exhaust coupler, about 5 inches long, maybe 2.5 or 2.25 inches in diameter, cut it in half, then sandwiched the 2 pieces back together over the muffler and cat pipe stubs (bridging the gap), and held in place with 2 clamps at either end. To close the exhaust leaks, I first wrapped some tiger claw exhaust tape around the two pipes, then placed the coupler pieces on.

I did this the Saturday night before the super bowl, and it is still holding.

I just take my stuff to the exhaust shop. The guy would probably charge me $10-$20 to fix it and I wouldn't be frustrated with clamps and getting this and getting that.

thats what i used to hold it up but i guess i used a cheap one because that one goes all the way around where as this one has a space at the screw connection points
