last night continued....
So I figured out the 4wd does work. Now the problem I'm having is I can get it accurately to neutral and 4 low. As far as I can tell full time and part time are working as well. The only thing is it feels like it never becomes fully disengaged when I put it in 2wd. What exactly does the vacuum swith on the NP242 do?I've tried adjusting the selector rod eight different times with no luck. How long should it take for the 4wd to disengage once you put it back into 2wd?
Thanks
Thanks

It can take a while sometimes. Just because the shifter is in the right position does not mean that the internals are. You can force them in with the lever. But the opposite is not true when disengaging. That is done with a little spring and all the pressure has to be off the front driveline before it will happen. You can let off the gas or stop and back up a little and that will do the trick.

I have always stopped and reversed a short distance then moved forward again before actually getting complete disengagement.
