Knock from inside

I am hearing a steady knock when I am in neutral at idle?? I dont hear it under the hood only inside.

Any Ideas????

Is it pretty loud? I had the same sound and oddly enough it was coming from the handle to select 2x4 / 4x4 etc. I pushed it all the way down and problem solved. May sound stupid but check it out.

My 4x4 select handle does the same. VERY annoying, I push it down EVERYTIME I get in my XJ.

I gotta do the exact same thing. I just bought it last sat. and thought something was seriously wrong... I had a good laugh when I realised it was the f'n handle.
